The blue button below is a link to the 2nd grade parent and child page on the Loyola Press website. On this page you will find:
- Interactive session reviews for each session
- Session study guides for each session
- "Living My Faith" - this is the last page of the children's session and is a summary for families of what the children learned in the session and how to continue the faith lesson at home this week.
- "Raising Faith Filled Kids: A Parent Page" this is a one page adult synopsis of what the children learned and ideas of how to share your faith with your children during the week.
- At the end of each unit there is an interactive game "Fishers of Faith". It can be played on computer or mobile devices. Playing it with your child is a great way to reinforce what they are learning and helps you dust off your knowledge of your Catholic faith!
- Also at the end of each unit is a column called "At-home Edition" on this page is a home lesson plan for each session in that unit. When your child miss a class you can bring home their book and use this plan to help you teach the lesson to your child at home. (Below is the syllabus so you can see which session they missed by date).

Prayers to work on with your child this year...
Act of Contrition (Please have your child memorize this prayer before receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation)
My God, I am sorry for my sins with all my heart. In choosing to do wrong and failing to do good, I have sinned against you whom I should love above all things. I firmly intend, with your help, to do penance, to sin no more, and to avoid whatever leads me to sin. Our Savior Jesus Christ suffered and died for us. In his name, my God, have mercy.

Grace Before Meals
Bless us, O Lord, and these Thy gifts which we are about
to receive from thy bounty, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Morning Offering
O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary;
I offer you all my prayers, works, joys, and sufferings of this day.
For all the intentions of Your Sacred Heart.
In union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world.
In reparation for all my sins.
For the intentions of all our friends, and in particular for the
intention of our Holy Father for this month. Amen.
In addition to the prayers they were working on in Kindergarten and 1st grade:
The Sign of the Cross
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Glory Be to the Father
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
Our Father
Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name;
Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
Hail Mary
Hail Mary, full of grace! The Lord is with you;
blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit
of your womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us
sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Prayer to the Holy Spirit
Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful. And kindle in them the fire of your love. Amen.
Guardian Angel Prayer
Angel of God, my guardian dear;
To whom God's love entrusts me here,
Ever this day be at my side,
to light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen.
