7th Grade Faith Formation Missed Session Make up Procedures

We hope that the students make most of the classes but if occasionally they miss a class...

Our expectation of the 7th and 8th grade students is that when they miss a session that they will make up the session at home.  We hope doing this will ensure the students have a solid foundation of knowledge about their Catholic faith and identity before they begin their journey in 9th grade towards the Sacrament of Confirmation.
 
When your student misses class they or you should:
For Finding God weeks (just lists session number - Sept thru Dec, Apr, May)
  • arrange with their Catechist to borrow a classroom book
  • and the appropriate one page session # assessment home.(or print out at home with link below)
  • read the session at home and complete the session assessment at home
  • guidance for parents can be found at the findinggod.com website - follow these directions:  At home you, the parent, can access the “At Home edition” of the lesson plan to teach the session to your student.  This can be found at findinggod.com , at the home page chose your child’s grade, then on the next page chose the unit # , the at home session lesson plans for the 5 sessions in that unit will come up. Find the correct session and share with your student. We encourage you to read and discuss the session at home with your child. The books are excellent.
  • They should return the completed session assessment page to their Catechist. AND BRING BACK THE BOOK
  For Encounter Program Weeks (says Encounter Program session #x - Jan thru March)
  • Parents received info and make up instructions for the Encounter session via email and hard copy
  • Click HERE for a copy of info and Make up instructions
  • Email Maura if you lose the email from Ascension press with the link to stream the videos at home
  • Students should bring home Encounter book, view videos and discuss with parents, complete workbook questions, parents sign last page of session, student returns book THE FOLLOWING WEEK
  • Sessions missed must be made up the week they are missed before the next class
